Increased security for online payments at APS Bank

APS Bank has introduced a new process to make online purchases safer and more secure. This process forms part of a new regulatory requirement known as Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), which aims to continue minimising the risk of fraudulent transactions through an added layer of security.

Going forward, when conducting online payments customers will need to input a personal password, followed with the one-time password (which will still be received via SMS) to complete most of their online payments.

The personal password must be set by the customer for the APS card used for online payments.  The password can be set from the comfort of one’s home using my APS internet and mobile banking.  One can also download step-by-step guides on www.apsbank.com.mt/SCA to set their personal password.

For more information, kindly access www.apsbank.com.mt/SCA or reach out to our Contact Centre on 2122 6644 (Mon to Sat, 8am to 8pm).
