MUBE appeals to government and loyal citizens to seriously step up

The Malta Union of Bank Employees (MUBE) once again expresses its full support to all its members working in the Industry who continue to deliver the essential service whilst showing solidarity with all the Medics, nurses and Health workers for their invaluable work against such a super arduous hazardous challenge.

Regrettably however, lack of effective enforcement and in the absence of any properly planned strategy, MUBE is appealing to government to step up its efforts because there is absolutely no room for complacency if the Nation wants to reduce the risk of further spread and fatalities.

Thus, MUBE insists strongly on the need to reverting back to strict preventive measures across the country whilst businesses should continue to do their best to ensure both the working environment, the employees and the customers are safe and secure. To this effect, all working arrangements connected with these measures are to be put back in place with focus on front liners and protecting vulnerable people. Remote working should once again become the order of the day whilst for those who might not be able to work from home, MUBE expects every working environment to have preventive measures in place such as wearing of masks, social distancing and mandatory strict hygienic arrangements.

MUBE reiterates that helping and supporting each other will reduce any further spread of the virus and we can do this by being responsible and disciplined by taking all necessary precautions to overcome the pandemic.

MUBE also recommends that unnecessary travel should be avoided.
